AXA Home Insurance - Buildings Cover

We protect your buildings (walls, floors, roof and permanent fixtures such as fitted kitchens or bathrooms) against fire, storm, flood, burst pipes, vandalism and many other scenarios. And as well as giving you bricks and mortar cover, we also give you these essential extras as standard-

Site clearance and professional fees (incurred as part of reconstruction) up to 10% of your building sum insured
Liability cover for occasional property repairs
Replacement locks (if keys are stolen) up to €750
Fire brigade charges (if your local authority charges them) up to €1,000
Cover for finding a leak (up to €750)
Contents in the open (up to €750)
Temporary accommodation costs (if your home is uninhabitable) up to 10% of your sum insured

And you can upgrade your cover to include accidental damage. This would cover (for example) putting your foot through the attic floor! This cover is FREE when you add accidental damage to contents as well (see across).

AXA Home Insurance - Contents Cover

We protect your personal possessions and contents (essentially anything you bring with you if you move house) against fire, storm, flood, burst pipes, theft, vandalism and many other scenarios. And as well as insuring your bits and pieces (big and small), we also give you these essential extras as standard-

New for old (as long as your sum insured is replacement cost)
Any one item covered for up to €5,000 (or 1/3 of the total sum insured)
Money cover
Temporary removal from home cover
Increased cover for Christmas or Family Weddings
Contents in the open (up to €750)
Liability cover for visitors

And you can upgrade your cover to cover accidental damage in the home (e.g. paint spillage on carpets) or, for complete peace of mind, you can also protect personal possessions for loss or damage outside the home (e.g. handbag or wallet stolen whilst out shopping).

Not everything can be covered under your standard policy, so we have extra cover for those extra things. Please note the following can be purchased online and can be added to your quotation at stage two of the quote. There will be an additional charge for these.

Accidental damage cover

You can extend your policy to cover accidental damage to household contents. For example;

- If you spill paint on your carpet or
- Put your foot through a ceiling while in the attic

Bicycle Cover

You can also insure your bicycles

Personal Accident

You can extend your policy to cover you and your family for death or loss of a limb or eye up to €6,500 as a result of fire, drowning, criminal assault or an accident in your home.

Personal Effects Cover

You may want to insure valuable items both in and outside the home. For example;

- Engagement ring
- Other jewellery
- Golf clubs
- Digital camera

Personal effect cover allows you to do this.

If these items are valued at over €1,300 you will need to specify these when buying your home insurance online. If they are less than €1,300 each you will only need to provide us with a total amount for all items.

Example: three items valued at €500 each, your total amount of personal effects cover should be €1,500.

One item is valued at €1,500 for example then will need to specify this item when you are getting your quotation.
