Easter travel tips
The roads will be extra busy this Easter, as many people will be heading off on holidays, so being prepared for your journey is key, especially if it’s a longer one than usual. Here are some simple Easter travel tips for a safe, stress-free journey:
Check your route
Check your route before you set off and allow yourself plenty of time to get there.
Inspect your car
Make sure the fluid levels (oil, coolant and windscreen washer fluid) are topped up, check the tread depth of your tyres and ensure all your lights are working properly.
Top up on fuel
It might sound obvious but do make sure you’ve got enough fuel for your journey. There’s nothing worse than realising you’re running on fumes when you’re not sure how far away the next petrol station is.
Remember, AXA customers get great savings at selected Circle K service stations with AXA Plus.
Share the driving
Sharing the driving can reduce the risk of driver fatigue. Plan on making a few stops along the way too, to break up the journey.
Pack a car emergency kit
Make sure you have a fully stocked car emergency kit. It’s a good idea to have essentials like a first aid kit, torch, jumper cables, and a blanket. You can check out our 12 essential items to include in your car emergency kit HERE.
Whatever happens – AXA and laya healthcare are with you
Even the best-planned Easter weekends have their moments. A car breakdown on the way to your destination. A twisted ankle on a coastal walk or arriving home to a leak.
That's where we come in - together.
AXA’s 24/7 Roadside Assistance (available as an added benefit) means a breakdown doesn’t have to ruin your weekend – one call and help is on the way.
For any issues that arise at home, you’ll get the help you need fast with our 24/7 Emergency Home Assistance.
Laya Health & Wellbeing Clinics are open daily 10am-10pm across Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick. Minor injuries and illness are seen within 60 minutes.
Need advice before you decide whether to head in? The Laya 24/7 Nurseline connects you with a qualified nurse any time of the day or night.
Different cover. Same commitment.
This Easter, trust AXA and laya healthcare to be there for you. Whether you’re staying local, exploring Ireland, or travelling further, enjoy every moment with family and friends, knowing we’ve got your back.
