A common question by those who own both a van and a car, for leisure or work, is if they can insure both their car and van on one policy. Unfortunately, because these are two different vehicles which each carry different risks, they cannot be insured under one policy. However, here at AXA when you choose to take out a van insurance policy with us, we do offer discounts if you already have a car insurance policy in your name. If your car insurance policy is with us at AXA, you can avail of a 30% discount, and if it is with another provider, you can avail of a 20% discount on your AXA van insurance.
What van insurance policies do AXA offer?
We offer our van insurance customers the option of choosing between two different insurance policies - standard and premier van insurance. In order to understand which van insurance policy is best for your needs, you must first understand the differences between them.
Standard Van Insurance
This is our basic van insurance policy. It includes unlimited cover for injury, up to €5 million third party property damage protection, third party trailer towing cover and emergency medical treatment.
Premier Van Insurance
AXA Premier van insurance also includes what is offered in our standard van insurance but extends your policy to also include No Claims Discount Stepback, €300 cover for windscreens and windows (when you choose comprehensive), no impact on your No Claims bonus following a fire and theft claim, and a new replacement van if repairs will exceed 60% of its value and is less than 12 months old. Subject to terms and conditions.
Once you have decided upon your desired van insurance policy, you can then choose your desired level of coverage from comprehensive, third party, fire & theft or third party only.
What other discounts can I avail of on my van insurance?
AXA understands the importance of not just having a suitable insurance policy for your van, but also having a premium that won’t break the bank. If your car insurance policy is with us at AXA, you can avail of a 30% discount on your van insurance, and policy but we also allow you to avail of up to 50% no claims discount. This discount is built up over several years, starting at 10% on year one and builds up each year until you reach the maximum 50%.
